Join us for quarterly online workshops on Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity. These four boundless qualities are also known as the four immeasurables. We will explore and contemplate each of them in turn, and learn practices to bring them into our daily lives. Introductory mindfulness awareness practice instruction will be offered each time, and no prior meditation experience is needed.

Mindfulness Matters: At Work, At Home, and In Community

This workshop series (usually three or six 1-hour sessions, online or in-person) will introduce you to mindfulness awareness meditation instruction. We’ll practice the technique together, share experiences, and explore ways to apply mindfulness in our daily lives.

Mindfulness techniques cause physical changes in the brain that improve our ability to focus and manage stress. Studies show benefits ranging from sleeping better at night to reducing depression and anxiety.

Workshop Objectives:

As a result of this workshop, participants will:

  • Receive mindfulness awareness meditation instruction.
  • Develop a strategy to initiate or strengthen a regular meditation practice.
  • Explore ways to bring the benefits of mindfulness to daily life.

Cultivating Kindness Every Day

This is the first of a series of workshops on Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity. These four boundless qualities are also known as the four immeasurables. We will explore and contemplate each of them in turn, and learn practices to bring them into our daily lives.

Cultivating Compassion Every Day

Description

This is the second of a series of workshops on Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity. These four boundless qualities are also known as the four immeasurables. We will explore and contemplate each of them in turn, and learn practices to bring them into our daily lives.

Introductory mindfulness awareness practice instruction will be offered each time, and no prior meditation experience is needed.

Workshop Objectives:

As a result of this workshop, participants will

  • Be introduced to mindfulness awareness practice.
  • Learn and practice contemplative practice to deepen our natural capacity for compassion.
  • Explore ways to bring the benefits of mindfulness and compassionate action to daily life.

Maintaining Balance in Daily Life

This workshop will help participants discover how they can best regain their equilibrium when their life begins to feel unbalanced. Being familiar with different leadership and personality styles and theories is critically important to being effective in our lives and communities.

Together, we’ll explore strategies that work for each of us to recognize when we become unbalanced, and identify ways to bring ourselves back into a sense of stability. We’ll be introduced to a tool known as the Personal Preservation Plan to build these techniques into our lives on a regular basis.

One strategy for maintaining balance includes mindfulness awareness practice. We’ll learn the technique together, share experiences, and explore ways to apply mindfulness in our daily lives.

Workshop Objectives:

As a result of this workshop, participants will

  • Be introduced to Balanced Leadership Theory.
  • Complete a Personal Preservation Plan.
  • Explore ways to bring the benefits of mindfulness to daily life.

Cultivating Mindfulness Every Day

This workshop series will introduce you to mindfulness awareness practice. Meditation Instruction will be offered each week. We’ll learn and practice the technique together, share experiences, and explore ways to apply mindfulness in our daily lives.

The final week will feature a powerful Juneteenth Compassion Practice.

  • Develop a strategy to initiate or strengthen a regular meditation practice.
  • Explore ways to bring the benefits of mindfulness to daily life.

Renewing our Purpose and Setting Intentions for the New Year

Are you ready for a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer view of what’s next? During this workshop, we will use creative visualization, mindful journaling, and other creative processes such as mind-mapping to design a clear vision for what we want next.

Participants will develop clarity around what they’d like to achieve and create a clear plan for moving forward. Move forward stronger this year with this guided personal retreat experience.

Workshop Objectives:

As a result of this workshop, participants will:

  • Be introduced to three creative processes for renewing sense of purpose and creating a plan.
  • Envision their own “ideal future state,” and explore why they do what they do.
  • Develop clear, SMART goals for moving forward and creating the future they envision.

Cost details:

It’s important to me that no one be turned away for inability to pay the full cost. The amounts listed in the sliding scale fee structure below are suggestions. You may pay any amount that fits your financial situation.

Workshop Fee Structure

  • $20 Supported Fee: for those with limited financial resources or recent financial hardship.
  • $40 Standard Fee: for those who can cover the basic cost of an online workshop.
  • $60 Benefactor: for those who can afford it, this fee helps provide support for others with limited financial resources.
